Sentence Structures

*In Asl sentence structure is very important since it is not the same grammatically as would be done in english. 

Topic and comment structure

1. Topic: Find the topic of your sentence as your first sign

2. Make a comment of that topic

   1. Bonus: When making a comment make sure to sign in both in the beginning and the end the pronoun of the sentence when specificaly refering to yourself or another person

      1. It is like the ending of sentence 

3. Finally sign who you are referring to in the sentence, who is making the comment

Rhetorical Question

1. Pronoun

2. Comment

3. Subject

4. Reason word (who what when where why)

   1. Used to replace the word because

   2. 
      

5. Subject two

6. Verb 

7. Pronoun

Yes or No question

1. Pronoun

2. Object (depends on the context of the sentence)

3. Preposition or verb

4. Pronoun

Basic questions

1. Pronoun

2. Verb

3. Subject 1

4. Subject 2 (optional)

5. Question word 

6. Pronoun

Tip: Make sure that when signing a question you use facial expressions to indcate confusion which is why you would be asking in the first place as it in a way helps to annunciate what you are signing.
